Allu screening bucket delivers topsoil benefits for Randall Contracting

FINLAY Group, the UK dealers for Allu products, have helped Randall Contracting to convert waste into a useable product at a cemetery in the South East.

The Essex-based contractors were using an Allu DL-Series bucket, with a fine screening drum to convert material from a large area of the land at the site, which had been used as a tipping area for rubbish, into topsoil. Previously, topsoil had been brought in at large volumes for a variety of uses on the site.

By producing 1,000 tonnes of topsoil from the waste area in 30h with a 14 tonne-excavator, Randall Contracting were able to help their client save thousands of pounds.

The DL-Series buckets feature a ‘top screen’ design which greatly reduces wear, power requirements and allows customers to change grid size using changeable cassettes. The aim has been to create a range that can give customers a convenient and effective screening method in which they can use, as and when required, on various projects rather than hiring or transporting expensive mobile machinery.

The fine screening drum minimizes required power and strain on components while delivering high throughputs, coupled with the ability to screen material that would normally clog and ‘blind’ a mesh screen.

Alan Knight, business development manager at Randall Contracting, said: ‘We are delighted with the Allu screening bucket. It has exceeded our expectations with its performance. We hope to be adding to our Allu range very soon as enquiries are coming in thick and fast.’

Chris Bell of Finlay Hire commented: ‘The project required the fine screening of soil that was too wet and sticky for traditional screening methods. Since then, Randall Contracting have used the bucket on various other projects with great success and can offer this as a service to their customers.’
